Most guys hate shopping for clothes – I know I do. When it comes to buying menswear, I don’t like to do it. I’d rather do anything else than go shopping for clothes. However, the bottom line is that I need to go clothes shopping from time to time, and here are some of my tricks to make it quick, effective, and enjoyable.
Go To The Mall
My first trick is to go to the mall rather than some off-the-mall store. The reason is selection. I don’t want to go to more than one driving destination, and the mall makes that convenient. Since there are so many menswear stores in the mall, this destination can make it easy and effective.
I also recommend bringing your wife, girlfriend, or a female friend with you if you really hate going to the mall. These women will probably know how to navigate the mall efficiently, while also knowing where to shop for you. They can also be great resources to pick out clothes for you.
Stick To Big, Easy To Navigate Stores
I also only like to shop in big, easy to navigate stores like Nordstrom or Macy’s. These stores have a huge selection, and they lay everything out in a way that is very organized. Plus, both of these stores usually offer great customer service, which is handy for a beginner like me. Since I don’t always know where I’m going or what I’m looking for, good help is an excellent way to find something specific you’re looking for.
Buy Online
Finally, once you know they type of clothes you want, or find a brand that really works well for you, look and see if you can buy it online. I’ve done this with several polo shirts and a pair of jeans once. I found what I liked in the store, took the part number down, and then ordered it online. It saved me a lot of money and allowed me to shop from the comfort of my own home.
